Carrick Boat  & Bike Hire

Carrick Boat & Bike Hire is a new business offering both visitors and locals the opportunity to enjoy fun activities on the river Shannon and leisurely cycles in the beautiful countryside surrounding our riverside town.

Bike Hire

We offer a range of adult and child bikes at very competitive day and weekend rates. We supply a range of local route maps to suit every level of cyclist.  These maps also highlight local landmarks, areas of scenic beauty and good restaurants where cyclists can take a well earned break and enjoy a bite to eat. Helmets and high visibility jackets are supplied. Bikes delivered and collected from your holiday base.

Boat Hire

Our rowing boats are perfect for exploring the Shannon or doing a bit of fishing. Life Jackets are provided and outboard engines are available for those who want to explore further or a more leisurely trip.

We are also introducing 2 new water based sports to the area:   Stand up Paddleboards (SUPs)  & Chinese Dragon Boating

SUPs
Stand Up Paddle boarding (SUP) is a fun water based sport which utilises a board and paddle. It is a traditional Hawaiian sport which promotes balance, strength and general fitness. One of the great things about SUPs is that it is easy to learn so you are ready to go after initial instruction. SUP is a sport that can be enjoyed on any type of water but the enclosed flat water of the River Shannon provides an excellent and safe base to learn this sport. SUP is currently one of the fastest growing water sports worldwide.

Chinese Dragon Boats
Dragon boating is an activity for all ages and abilities. It is a group paddling activity for group sizes of 14plus which enables groups to bond as a team whilst having fun together. Dragon boating can be enjoyed as a competitive sport or, for the slightly less physically active, simply as a fun activity. Paddlers with no previous experience can quickly master the paddling technique and be moving through the water with ease after a brief training session. Each boat has a qualified helmsman to ensure the boat’s safe steerage and its own drummer to help the paddlers keep to the right paddling beat!
